Valentine's Day is less than two weeks away. It's a good time to let your loved one know you care. Flowers, gifts and dinner are always welcome treats, and / or some thoughtful gesture that shows that the lady [or man] you're with, still means a lot to you.
It's generally hard to make restaurant reservations on short notice at a romantic Bronx restaurant on Valentine's Day, and sometimes it's difficult to make them for the weekend preceding Valentine's Day. So if you're thinking about doing something this Valentine's Day for dinner in or around the Castleton, Stapleton, Richmond Town, Great Kills, Rossville, Tompkinsville near St. George, Westerleigh or South Beach neighborhoods; it's best to do your research early, and call a week or at least a few days ahead to make the reservations.

Romantic Restaurants on Staten Island - A Brief History of Valentine's Day
The origins of Valentine's Day are not well documented. It's believed to have been named after Saint Valentine who was apparently a Catholic martyr who died over 1500 years ago. Today the holiday is not associated with religion so much as flowers, candies, cards and romantic dinners. And the holiday spokesperson is now Cupid, a Roman god of desire, and quite a mischief maker.

The Staten Island Valentine's Day restaurants and events are broken out by neighborhood below. There are a few events in Staten Island that precede Valentines Day that might also be of interest. They include the following.
Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 1 pm to 4 pm there's a celebration of the Korean Lunar New Year at the Staten Island Museum in the Snug Harbor Cultural Center at 1000 Richmond Terrace in Building A on Staten Island. The events includes a small introduction to Korean food including a rice cake soup and sticky noodles with vegetables, traditional Korean dancing in costume and a traditional Korean drum performance. Free w/ admission which is $8 / $5 / $2.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, February 14, 15 & 16, 2019. The Stone House provides a romantic setting for Valentines Day at Clove Lakes on Staten Island. Location. At 37 Navy Pier Court in the Stapleton Neighborhood of Staten Island. Photo to right was not taken from the Surf Restaurant, but rather from the Staten Island Ferry after departing from the St. George ferry station heading toward Manhattan which may be seen in the background.
Description. A restaurant located along the Staten Island waterfront looking east to the Atlantic Ocean. They do open fire grill style cooking. It's a comfortable, modern place.
