This weekend, there are a number of events around the five boroughs commemorating the losses of 911. The following are a few of those events.
The collection of photos at right shows an cultural performance at Lincoln Center honoring the victims of 911. The performance returns Monday at 8.05 am.

POSTED AFTER THE FACT _ Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 9 am to 12 noon - there's a Walk honoring Father Mychal Judge that begins at St. Francis of Assissi Roman Catholic Church at 135 West 31st Street in Midtown.
Monday, September 11, 2023 from 8.40 am to 1.30 pm - 911 Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony at the 911 Memorial and Museum at 180 Greenwich Street in Downtown Manhattan. Not open to the public.
Monday, September 11, 2023 from 7 am to 4 pm and then from 6 pm to 6 am Tuesday 9/12 - Tribute of Light at the site of the World Trade Center in Downtown Manhattan.
Monday, September 11, 2023 from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm - Wreath Laying Ceremony at the New York City Fire Museum in Downtown Manhattan.
Monday, September 11, 2023 from 10.30 am to 11.30 am - Engine 54 / Ladder 4 / Battalion 9 Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Midtown Manhattan.
The 911 Memorial & Museum is open all week except - ironically - on Monday 9/11 in Downtown Manhattan. This is because it is the site of a private commemoration ceremony [see above] which I believe is restricted to those who lost loved ones on 9/11.

POSTED AFTER THE FACT _ Friday, September 8, 2023 - The Department of Corrections held an event on Rikers Island.
Monday, September 11, 2023 beginning at 7 pm there's a Candelight Vigil at the 911 Memorial Garden in Juniper Valley Park [near 78th Street]. There will be music and poetry performed in honor of the fallen. It's suggested you bring a candle or flashlight or flag and a chair.
Tuesday, September 12, 2023 beginning at 7.30 pm there's a Candlelight Memorial of Music at McManus Memorial Park at 81st & Ditmars Blvd in Astoria / Jackson Heights. The Port Authority of NY & NJ Pipe Band will perform. All denominations are welcome. Organized by the United Civic Community Assn & the PANYNJ.

Monday, September 11, 2023 from 12 noon to 1 pm - Battalion 57 Memorial Mass at St. Joseph's Cathedral at 856 Pacific Street in Prospect Heights Brooklyn.

Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 12 noon - 2 pm, there's a 911 Day of Remembrance at Lou Gehrig Plaza on 161st Street between Grand Concourse and Walton in the Concourse neighborhood of the Bronx.

Monday, September 11, 2023 beginning at 6.30 pm, there's a Memorial Service at the Staten Island 911 Postcards Memorial overlooking the harbor in the St. George neighborhood of Staten Island.
