NYC Weather Forecast as of 10.4.24. Today - sunrise 6.56 am & sunset at 6.32 pm. Nice weekend with moderate temperatures in the 60's and 70's. For the most part no rain, with the tiny exception of overnight Friday a small chance [25%] of a small amount [less than 1/10th inch] and then very late Sunday night but more likely on Monday, there's a 90% chance of a quarter inch of rain. The humidity was nearly 80% Friday, but falls to 50% - 60% on Saturday, before climbing back up again on Sunday to the mid 70% range. Winds are 4 - 9 mph all weekend. Generally a great fall weekend weatherwise.
Early Saturday Morning Edition at 1.30 am. This is done or mostly done. Looks like a jam packed weekend of fun things to do. Enjoy.

This is a traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest which for years had been held in Manhattan along the East River at 23rd Street, but moved to Brooklyn in 2022. This year 64 restaurants and bars are participating, and they're hosting a block party with live entertainment along 46th Street underneath the Sunnyside Arch between Queens Blvd and Greenpoint Avenue. The parade begins at 12 noon starting at Bergen and heading down Franklin Avenue, turning west at President and then heading north along Classon Avenue. The parade ends in Dr. Ronald McNair Park which is the triangle park next to the Brooklyn Museum at Classon and Eastern Parkway. Sunday, October 13, 2024 assembly begins at 11 am and the parade kicks off at 12 noon - The 47th Annual Bronx Columbus Day Parade. The parade assembly forms along Morris Park Avenue from White Plains Road to Wallace Avenue. The parade departs from Wallace Avenue along Morris Park Avenue until it then turns left onto Williamsbridge Rd, and eventually ends at Lydig Avenue [one block shy of the Pelham Parkway]. The parade will be followed by a street fair but I couldn't find / confirm the location which is likely near the end of the parade in the Morris Park neighborhood of the Bronx. Unconfirmed, but I believe this is organized with the help of the Morris Park Community Association at 1824 Bronxdale Avenue and supported by Local 79. This weekend there's an Italian Festival at Mount Loretto and an Exotic Italian Car Show - see details below and above.

NYC Weather Forecast as of 10.25.24 - Sunrise 7.18 am & Sunset at 6 pm. Temperature highs in the 60's & 70's and temperature lows in the 40's & 50's. No rain in the forecast and dry. Winds will generally be between 5 - 10 mph, except Saturday from about 8a to 7p they will rise to 15 mph.
Saturday Early Morning. Done, but the Halloween stuff was done using short cuts as I ran out of time. It looks like a nice pre-Halloween weekend. Thursday, October 31, 2024 beginning at 7 pm & ending around 10.30 pm - NYC Halloween Parade. The 51st Annual Manhattan Halloween Parade NYC in the West Village begins at Spring Street / Canal and 6th Avenue and marches north along 6th to 15th Street in the West Village neighborhood. The parade runs for three to four hours with the official end time at 10.30 pm. There are over 35 bands and an innumerable showing of creative costumes. The theme is Upside Down and Inside Out.
