CoVid Update

On 6.8.21 the CDC eased CoVid restrictions on travelers from France, Canada, Germany and Mexico.

nyc things to do this weekend nyc manhattan queens brooklyn staten Island bronx things to do nycEffective 6.14.21 70% of adults in NYC had been fully or partially vaccinated. There was a snafu in vaccination administration in Times Square and 900 people who received the Pfizer vaccine, were administered expired product. The government agency responsible for overseeing the administration of these vaccinations was in the process of contacting those people to let them know.

On 6.14.21 it was announced that NYC Senior Centers, which had been closed due to the pandemic, are set to reopen this month.

On 6.14.21 Nova announced that it has produced a vaccine that's about 90% effective, even against new strains. Looking for FDA approval.

The Delta variant of CoVid is increasingly becoming the dominant strain around the world. The significance of this development is that now both doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine are required to stave off serious illness. The Delta variant is said to not only be more contagious, but also more lethal.

As of 6.15.21 the Delta variant was 10% of total U.S. CoVid cases. As of 6.25.21 the Delta variant jumped to become 20% of total U.S. CoVid cases.

NYS ends "to go liquor sales" by restaurants, Thursday 6.24.21.

NYS Comptroller, Thomas DiNapoli, said that the Bronx was hardest hit by the pandemic, citing high unemployment in the Bronx versus the rest of the city.

IN JUNE - NYC had record low CoVid cases on 6.14.21. NYS has 70% vaccinated, which is what's needed for herd immunity. That could be offset by the fact that NYC is, in some sense, the crossroads of the world.

On July 7th there will be a ticker tape parade in the canyon of heroes. The last time we held one of those was when the U.S. Women's Soccer team won the Women's World Cup.

Demographics - Returning White Collar Office Workers

6.6 - There was a survey that indicated that senior management and extroverted people are looking forward to returning to the office, while women and introverted people were not.

Election Results Not Yet in, Rent Stabilization Price Increase, MTA Ridership, is PBS Anchor Judy Woodruff Losing it & Psychologically Deranged Dictators

Elections. The second round of tallying will be done by Tuesday, June 29th. The third round will happen on July 7th, during which the 100,000 outstanding absentee ballots will be included in the count for the first time.

Governor Phil Murphy easily won the Democratic primary for New Jersey governor. But he looks to have a tough race in November, as Murphy is leading the Republican challenger by a margin of just 26%.

The rent stabilization price increase this year was 0% for six months, 1.5% for one year and 2.5% for two years.

MTA ridership is now running at about 50% of what it used to be pre-pandemic. A year ago ridership was at about 10% of the prior year.

Is Judy Woodruff of PBS senile or incompetent? She keeps referring to Donald Trump as President Trump instead of FORMER president Trump. How can the top anchor of PBS continue making the same mistake a full five months after Trump has left office? This is especially important given Trump's failure to recognize his loss. She did this on her 6.22.21 broadcast, which I made note of, but I've seen her do it so many times since Trump left office that I lost count. It's annoying as hell to see someone in her position continually and repeatedly make such a basic misstep. Wake up PBS and do your job.

Apparently Russian authoritarian President Vladimir Putin is so frightened by Alexei Navalny's popularity, that Putin doesn't have the courage to mention opposition leader Alexei Navalny's name.

National and International Failures - PBS Judy Woodruff's Incompetence, Authoritarian 'President' Vladimir Putin Fear of Competition & Chinese [Nazi?] 'President' Xi Jinping

Chinese dictator President Xi Jinping increasingly looks to be the equivalent of a 21st century Hitler. Jinping shows no limits to his racist and inhumane treatment of non-Han Chinese according to reports coming out of Xinjiang, as well as Hong Kong. It is becoming increasingly obvious that Jinping's unbridled ambition to control everything and everyone on this planet - like Adolph Hitler's meglomania - won't stop unless those with power, begin making efforts to curtail Xi Jinping's psychological inbalance and out-of-kilter obsession with control.

The people of China need to ask themselves why they don't get an opportunity to play a role / have a voice in their own government? Why does only what Xi Jinping wants or says or thinks matter? Is Xi a god? Was Xi granted the divine right by a god to rule the Chinese people? Or is Xi Jinping a callous, brutal dictator, who the nation's own citizens fear just like a good many of the people living in Germany feared Adolph Hitler? I think the western world should ban Chinese technology, given what Xi Jinping is doing vis a vis surveillance in his own nation. The outside world needs to demand more visibility into Chinese society and technologies as a precondition for trade and finance, as Xi Jinping has failed to provide sufficient transparency vis a vis the Wuhan Lab where the Corona Virus is alleged, by some, to have been created. Xi's Chinese government has done or said little, that convinces me that the Corona Virus wasn't possibly part of a Chinese biowarfare program. This is not to say that it is - but rather that the possibility that it may still be - remains as one of the top explanations for what has happened.

Part of being welcomed into economic benefits and trading with the western world, must be that trading partner nations behave in accordance with decent and humane principles of conduct.
