NYC Weather Forecast as of 11.1.24 - Sunrise 7.27 am & Sunset at 5.51 pm. The temperature high on Friday will be in the high 70's and then hover around 60 for the rest of the weekend. The temperature lows will descend gradually over the weekend from 50 degrees on Friday to the low 40's the rest of the weekend. Winds will range from 10 - 20 mph Friday, 5 - 10 mph Saturday and 3 - 5 mph on Sunday.
It will be a dry weekend, with the humidity level ranging under 50% all weekend. No precipitation is in the forecast. October 2024 was the driest October on record in NYC, with just 0.01 inch of measurable rain recorded. We ask ouir Climate Change denying friends to please pay attention to this month as a data point, as this was not a good record to break, and it's accompanied by many other such occurrences.
The photo at right shows the NYC Marathoners streaming across the Pulaski Bridge from Brooklyn into Queens in a prior year. Look at how happy they are to feel so healthy and alive. The NYC Marathon returns this Sunday to all five boroughs - see details below.
Saturday Afternoon Edition at 4.15 pm. Generally done, but noting that we're always working on & updating things. The holiday festivities and markets are beginning to kick in, so if interested, pay attention to the links to them as we'll be updating going forward. We're also doing some seasonal transitioning, which sometimes takes us a bit of time for us to hit a timely stride.

Sunday, November 3, 2024 - NYS Early Voting Ends. Use this url to find your poll site - https://vote.nyc/page/find-your-poll-site
Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 2 am - Daylight Savings Time Ends. This is where we will 'fall back' by moving our clocks back one hour starting at 2 am Sunday, or before going to bed Saturday night.
Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 8 am - 5 pm - The NYC Marathon runners begin congregating at Fort Wadsworth at the foot of the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge on Staten Island beginning at 7 am. The Professional Wheelchairs take off at 8 am, the Handcyclists at 8.22 am, the Professional Women at 8.40 am, and the Professional Men at 9.05 am, with the last wave at 11.40 am. Staten Island is the starting poinit, while Brooklyn is the first leg, the Queens segment of the course is around the midpoint before heading into Manhattan, then north to the Bronx over the Willis Avenue Bridge, where they do a U turn by heading west over the Madison Avenue Bridge before turning south into Manhattan and Central Park. Use the link to the front page below to view a map of the Marathon course for 2022.
So you can do some math to figure out when to greet them in your borough. The fastest men complete the race in a bit more than two hours, while the average is 4 hours and 40 minutes. The midpoint is in Queens. The biggest wave of runners travel through Queens around 11 am, so you can figure out the rest. The weather is expected to be pleasant. Enjoy.

NYC Weather Forecast as of 11.7.24. But first - Sunrise 6.34 am & Sunset at 4.44 pm. Unusually warm weather for this time of year continues, with highs about 70 Friday & 60 on Saturday and Sunday. The temperature lows will be in the mid 40's on Friday and Saturday, climbing back to about 60 on Sunday. There's about a 1/3 inch of rain expected beginning late Sunday afternoon or early evening [after 1.5 months of drought], and ending Monday by 7 am. The humidity remains low at 40% Friday, between 30% - 50% Saturday and then rising to 50% to 80% on Sunday. Winds will be between 3 - 13 mph, with the humidity lows dipping in and out on Saturday.
The photo at right was taken this week in NYC. It shows that the Fall colors are finally here, and the leaves are turning. Although because of the dry weather, the leaves don't seem to be as vibrant as in prior years.
Saturday Early AM Edition at 2.15 am. Generally done with the weekend, per se, and starting on the holidays. Looks to be another good weekend.
TV News Fails to ask the Billionaires the Hard Questions
The photo above or at right, shows a $1 Million check written by Elon Musk's America PAC, many of which were given directly to Republican voters in the swing states, shortly before the election. The giveaway was heralded by Musk himself as a 'chance' and 'random' sweepstakes, but which his PAC later admitted in court this week, that it was not a chance giveaway [= rigged?].
Notice the NBC TV News question at the bottom of the photo / screen - "Who's winning Elon Musk's Million Dollar Giveaways?". This query appears to be in search of a human interest story, rather than a real hard news question, which one would expect [and hope] that a Network TV News organization would ask. To me, it was a distraction from the real question TV News should have been asking people, to ask themselves, which is, "Why is Elon Musk giving away a reported $100 million plus to, and campaigning so hard for, Donald Trump's re-election bid, after previously dissing him?"
The answer is, of course, the same as it is for all billionaire-related questions of this nature, which is that - most to some billionaires are motivated by an insatiable self interest and greed. It is my observation that, many of them rarely - if ever - do something without trying to get something of equal or greater value in return. And Elon Musk appears no exception to what I have observed.
What the TV News People Likely Won't Talk About in their Post Election Coverage - Their Role in Disinforming & then Pressuring Key Players to Make Poorly Considered Choices
The two voting photos shown above or at right & below / at right, were taken 1) first during early voting, where there was a bit of a line; and 2) on election day, where there wasn't any line at all. This lighter turn out showed up in the overall NYS results.
What the TV News folks aren't talking about. While there's still a bit more than 3% of the vote left to count, Harris didn't fare as well in NYS as Joe Biden did. The 2020 NYS result had Biden with 5.2 million votes, while Trump had 3.2 million votes. In 2024, with almost 97% of the vote counted, Harris had 4.2 million votes vs Trump having 3.4 million votes. Harris largely underperformed Biden in the key contested states, perhaps because she is viewed as more liberal than Biden, and because the swing states are - by definition - more in the middle ideologically.
And Why aren't the TV News charlatans and quacks re-examining the incredible results of theirs and the Democratic Party's top brass handiwork? The conceited 'media elites', along with the top brass of the Democratic Party, pressured Biden to forfeit his right to be the Democratic candidate for president. Was that the right way to go?
They will never consider the possibility that the answer could very well be 'maybe not'. Use the link above to review what we wrote back then, which differed from what the pack of TV News teleprompter readers were saying.
And recall how British Chairman & CEO of CNN, Mark Thompson, used CNN hosts, Dana Bash and Jake Tapper, to get the ball rolling on the campaign to pressure Biden out? First by changing the rules of the debates to let Trump lies and falsities be spread unabated on CNN's TV News in a live televised presidential debate - in contrast to some 60 years of U.S. historic precedent, where lies and falsities did not go unchecked over the national airwaves. And then by subsequent news reports that continued what appeared to be a news organization's campaign to attack Biden in order to replace him in the middle of the race.
USA Presidential & NYS Election Results 2024
President Race Tallies as of Today 11.7.24. While the 2024 presidential race is over, the vote counting continues. As of this post, X-president Trump is leading challenger VP Harris with 295 Electoral College Votes vs 226. There are 17 Electoral College Votes outstanding, and they are in Nevada (6) and Arizona (11) - both of which, at this time, appear likely to deciding in favor of Trump. Contrary to the TV News reports, this isn't much more of a victory / defeat than was that of Biden over Trump in 2020, where Biden won 306 Electoral College Votes and Trump won 232, with a spread of 5 million popular votes. At present, Trump has 72.8 million votes and Harris has 68.2, for a current difference of 3.6 million votes.
Senate. Democratic Senator Gillebrand appeared well on her way to victory, with 93% of the precincts reporting, she had a 56% - 39% margin, or about 1.3 million more votes, out of the 7.3 million counted for the Senate race. As for the entire Senate, Democrats currently have a majority of 51 - 49 because three independents are caucasing with them. That said, in 2025 Republicans will retake control of the Senate with at least a 53 member majority. The Democrats have already won 45 seats and there are two seats which havent' been decided.
NYS seats in Congress. The Democrats appear to have picked up three Congressional Seats. Democrat Josh Riley had an edge with 51.8% of the vote, with 96% of it counted. Democrat John Mannion also appears on his way to victory with 53.9% of the vote, defeating incumbent Republican Brandon Williams with 86% of the vote counted. Democrat Laura Gillen appears on her way to beating incumbent Republican Anthony D'esposito with 50.9% of the vote, with 98% of the vote counted. And outspokenRepublican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik appears to have won her re-election bid, 210,000 to 127,000 against challenger Democrat Paula Collins.
At present, there are 220 Republican Reps and 212 Democratic Reps and 3 vacancies. As of this post, there are 210 seats expected to have been won by Republicans, and 198 seats expected to have been won by Democrats. There are 27 congressional races that haven't yet been decided. It's currently too close to call, but we'll likely know within another day or two.
*** Our Monday Morning Quarter Back Report, coming 11.11.24. We'll poste our perspective on the 2024 election results next Monday. Generally, we don't see the world in quite the same way as either the Conservatives, nor the TV News, because we try to do most of our own thinking, and generally can't find any other suitable press to parrot.
