NYC Weather. The temperature highs will be around 60 all weekend long, while the temperature lows will be around 50 all weekend long. Winds will be 10 - 15 mph all weekend. The humidity will rise from 60% to 70% on Friday, rising to the mid 70% to mid 80% on Saturday, and rising to 80% - 90% on Sunday. There's about 2/3 of an inch of rain expected Saturday and another inch between 11 am - 11 pm on Sunday.
The photo at right, of the Greek Independence Day Parade, was taken a number of years back. The cultural pageantry references the lore of the heroics and democracy of ancient Greece.

On Sunday, April 30, 2023 beginning at 1.30 pm the Greek Independence Day Parade returns to Manhattan in its full glory. During the pandemic the parade went on hiatus, returning last year [2022] but in early June. The parade begins on 5th Avenue at 64th Street and marches north to 79th Street. On Monday, May 1st, 2023, Tony Award Tickets go on Sale. For the first time ever, the Tony Awards ceremony will be held at the United Palace at 4140 Broadway at 175th Street in Washington Heights. For details see the United Palace - https://www.unitedpalace.org/.
On Monday, May 1st, 2023 the Met Gala returns. This is a billionaire, celebrity, high society fashion event that raises funds to support the Metropolitan Museum. Tickets are very hard to get and range from $350 to $150,000 for a table.

On Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 11 am - 1 pm there's a Prospect Park Tour with the Friends of the Olmsted Bell House in Brooklyn.
On Sunday, April 30, 2023 beginning at 4 pm there's a ceremony and street naming in honor of Benjamin W. Schaeffer at Avenue N and East 15th Street in Midwood in Brooklyn. Schaeffer was an MTA transit worker who in 2018 evacuated a subway train after a suspected arsonist began spilling gasoline in one of the cars. He was also a Vice Chair of the Local 100 Transit Workers Union of America.
Luna Park Amusement Park at Coney Island opened Friday, March 31, 2023 from 12 noon - 8 pm. It's open 11 am - 8 pm weekends in April, and ALL WEEK between the Christian and Orthodox Easter Sundays [April 9 - 16]. Then for the rest of April and May it's only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, beginning April 28 - May 7, 2023 at 8 pm on Fridays & Saturdays and at 2 pm and 3 pm respectively on Saturdays and Sundays, there's a performance of Eight Tales of Pedro at the Queens Theatre in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
