The temperature highs will be around 60 on Friday, then rising to 70 on Saturday and Sunday. The temperature lows will be around 50 on Friday rising slightly to the mid 50's by Sunday. Winds will be about 5 mph all weekend. The humidity will fall from 60% to 70% on Friday, to about 50% on Saturday and Sunday. No rain is in the forecast for this weekend

The photo at right shows a rainy day this past week. It was nice to see some moisture return to the area, as up until very recently, it had been lacking thus far this year.

Sunday, May 7, 2023 first wave beginning at 7.30 am & officially over at 6 pm - 5 Boro Bike Ride. It starts between Canal Street and the Battery in Manhattan, depending on the cyclist wave folks are in. And it ends at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island. For details see - https://www.bike.nyc

 

Mostly Free Things to do this Weekend in Manhattan NYC

Saturday, May 6, 2023 - Cannabis Parade from 11 am to 1 pm. In the past the parade began at 12.30 pm, and marches south from 32nd Street along Broadway to Union Square Park. This year it might be bigger because of the legalization of pot, so that could change things a bit. Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1 - 5 pm. The Cannabis Parade after party festivities are held in Union Square Park.

Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 10 am to 6 pm - 44th Plantathon Crafts Fair - Along east side of Broadway from 73rd to 82nd Street - street fairs in the Upper West Side neighborhood UWS of Manhattan. One of the oldest plant fairs in the city, offering a huge array of plants, food and live music.

NEXT WEEK _ Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4 - 10 pm there's the Uptown Night Market at West 133rd Street at 12th Ave - Under the Arches. For details see - https://www.maschospitalitygroup.com/uptownnightmarket. This market is held on the second Thursday of every month - 5/11, 6/8, 7/13, 8/10, 9/14, 10/12/23.

NEXT WEEK _ Thursday / Friday - Tuesday, May 11 - 16, 2023 from 12 noon - 6 pm on Saturday, Sunday & Tuesday and open until 8 pm Friday & Monday - TEFAF - The European Fine Art Foundation - Fine Art Show at the Park Avenue Armory at 643 Park Avenue [at 66th Street] in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. For details and $55 / $75 / $25 tickets see - https://www.tefaf.com. This is NOT a street fair, but rather an art and antiquities fair on the UES of Manhattan.

Thru August 12, 2023 there will be an exhibit of Georgia O'Keeffe's works [1887-1986] at the Museum of Modern Art at 11 West 53rd Street at 6th Avenue in Manhattan. Began mid April. For details and $25 tickets see - https://tickets.moma.org/

Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 11 am - 6 pm. Church Avenue Street Fair & Festival. Along Church Avenue from Coney Island Avenue to Argyle Road in Flatbush. There will be performances, food & a kids carnival. Brooklyn street fairs in Flatbush. Organized by the Church Avenue BID / Meteor in the Flatbush / Kensington neighborhoods.

Luna Park Amusement Park at Coney Island opened Friday, March 31, 2023 from 12 noon - 8 pm. It's open 11 am - 8 pm weekends in April, and ALL WEEK between the Christian and Orthodox Easter Sundays [April 9 - 16]. Then for the rest of April and May it's only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
