things to do this weekend nyc weekend events manhattan queens brooklyn bronx staten island nyc weekend eventsUpdated October 4, 2025 v. 10/3/2025 / NYC Neighborhoods / NYC Things To Do Events / News Analysis & Opinion / Gotham Buzz NYC.

Sunrise 6.53 am. Sunset 6.36 pm. Daylight Savings Time. We're getting 11 hours & 42 minutes of daylight or three hours and 24 minutes less of sunlight than we were getting the weekend of the Summer Solstice, on June 20, 2025. The Summer Solstice is the longest day of this year, providing 15 hours and 6 minutes of sunlight in NYC.

The photo above or at right, was taken on Sunday at the Tour de Bronx Bike Ride on the Grand Concourse at 161st Street just outside of the Bronx Borough Hall. About 4,000 cyclists signed up for the event, and based on what I saw on a beautiful, warm, sunny, dry morning, most of them showed up for the ride.

NYC Specific Weather - This can be very Different than TV News TriState Weather. Looks like a great weather weekend. No rain. The temperatures highs will be in the mid 70's Friday, rising to the low 80's on Saturday and Sunday. The temperature lows will be in the high 50's on Friday and the mid 60's on Saturday and Sunday. The winds will be a pretty steady 5 mph all weekend. And the humidity will swing wildly again this weekend, from about 95% to 45% Friday, and from 80% to 45% on Saturday and Sunday. The humidity rises when it's dark out, peaking around daybreak, and then falling during the day, bottoming between 3 and 5 pm.

Saturday Morning Edition @ 10.15 am. Mostly done, with a bit of clean up to do on some of the attendant pages. We'll have it finished by about noon'ish. It's another big, fun filled weekend. Please share with family & friends. Have a good weekend.

Ongoing. We started adding a bit more news and events two weeks ago. We're starting with what we believe to be one of the biggest unreported stories of the casino competition in NYC and NYS. It's just one of many examples that will follow, demonstrating just how badly billionaire TV news outlets distract, mislead and leave their audiences in the dark.

Mets Eliminated from the MLB Playoffs & Casino Proposals Move Forward - but the Biggest Part of These Two Stories is Connected - and went Unreported by Billionaire TV News

Mets Owner, Billionaire Steve Cohen, was the Founder of a Securities Firm that was Involved in One of the Largest Insider Criminal Cases Against a Hedge Fund in U.S. History. Now Cohen is Vying for a Casino. Should Someone with Cohen's History be Allowed to Operate a Casino in NYC? And is Cohen Competing Fairly for a Casino License?

Sunday, September 28, 2025. Mets owner Steve Cohen has been preoccupied vying for a casino license in the CitiField parking lot. This is why Cohen didn't have much time this summer to find a 'black edge' equivalent to win a pennant for the Mets. Now the question is whether Cohen has found some 'black edge' equivalent to use to win a casino license, because someone convinced the board member appointee of former NYC mayoral candidate Jessica Ramos, to change their vote from valiantly advocating against the proposed casino, to voting for it.

Scroll Down to see Each Boro's Headline Events & Things to Do: Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island

things to do this weekend nyc weekend events manhattan queens brooklyn bronx staten island nyc weekend eventsUpdated October 10, 2025 v. 10/3/2025 / NYC Neighborhoods / NYC Things To Do Events / News Analysis & Opinion / Gotham Buzz NYC.

Sunrise 7.02 / 6.53 am. Sunset 6.23 / 6.36 pm. Daylight Savings Time. We're getting 11 hours & 20 minutes of daylight or three hours and 46 minutes less of sunlight than we were getting the weekend of the Summer Solstice, on June 20, 2025. The Summer Solstice is the longest day of this year, providing 15 hours and 6 minutes of sunlight in NYC.

The photo above or at right, was taken last weekend near the Citibank Building in Long Island City in Queens. High winds are expected on Sunday and Monday, so I hope the NYC Department of Buildings is doing its job to make sure that construction sites in all five boroughs, have been properly fastened down.

NYC Specific Weather - This can be very Different than TV News TriState Weather. There's a 50% chance of about a half inch of rain Sunday, beginning mid afternoon. On Monday, the probability of about 3/4 inch of rain climbs from 50% overnight, to about 70% by 7 am, climbing further to 100% by 11 am. Tuesday, at present looks like little rain. Now this all said, let me inform you that just a day ago, the forecast was for almost double that amount of rain, so the weather system has shed a fair amount of precipitation - and given the drought - could continue to dry up as we move through the weekend. And while this is good news for the weekend weather, it's a dire warning about the lost of planetary H2O that should concern everyone who's contributing to the problem by pumping carbon into the atmosphere. 10.10.25 late afternoon update - the weekend shed another 1/4 inch of rain off the forecast.

The temperature highs will be in the mid 60's on Friday, climbing to the high 60's on Saturday, dropping back to the mid 60's on Sunday and the low 60's on Monday. The temperature lows fell into the high 40's Friday morning, but will climb to about 60 for the rest of the weekend. The humidity was 90% early Friday, and will fall to about 50% later today, and then climb back to 90%, where it will remain for the rest of the weekend. The winds will be 5 - 10 mph Friday, climbing to 10 - 15 mph Saturday and then rising to 20 - 25 mph plus on both Sunday and Monday - so it's a windy weekend.

Friday Late Afternoon Edition @ 4.45 pm. This is a solid draft with a tiny bit more to do, plus clean up of a few related pages. Should be done with clean up early Friday evening. It's a big, fun filled, three day holiday weekend. Please share with family & friends. Have a good weekend. I don't think the weather is going to be anything near as bad as the TV News folks portray it.

We're starting with what we believe to be one of the biggest unreported stories of the casino competition in NYC and NYS. It's just one of many examples that will follow, demonstrating just how badly billionaire TV news outlets distract, mislead and leave their audiences in the dark.

Pam Bondi's DOJ Track Record and Testimony this Week

Adams Exit & Pam Bondi's DOJ Role in it. Incumbent mayor, Eric Adams, dropped out of the race on September 28, 2025, less than two weeks ago. Many believe Adams cut a deal with Trump regarding a obtaining a pardon for his corruption charges. A pardon had not been given earlier this year, but rather the case was withdrawn [enabling it to be brought up again]. Trump and Adams deny that they cut a deal, just as they denied cutting any sort of deal to withdraw the case earlier this year. It was alleged that Trump's seemingly corrupt Attorney General, Pam Bondi, withdrew the Adams corruption case, in exchange for Adams opening Rikers Island to ICE. Adams opened Rikers to ICE, not too coincidentally, right around the same time that Pam Bondi's Department of Justice withdrew the corruption case against Adams, in spite of objections from about a half dozen attorneys working for Bondi's DOJ, who decided to quit the DOJ, rather than withdraw the corruption case against Adams. It's nice to know that some DOJ personnel have integrity. But it's not nice to know that they're not the ones who stayed, and they are not the ones in charge.

Bondi testified on Capitol Hill earlier this week - Epstein Files & DOJ Weaponization. Many people believe Bondi's not being faithful to her Senate Confirmation Hearings Testimony not to turn the Department of Justice into Trump's personal attack dog law firm, to be used for whatever he wants. The Attorney General is responsible for enforcing the rule of law, per the oath taken to uphold the U.S. Constitution. Within the past month Bondi's DOJ dropped the FBI bribery case against ICE Director Tom Honan, who allegedly took a $50,000 bribe. And Bondi's DOJ brought two lawsuits against Trump's perceived enemies, which he ordered her to do in a post on 'Truth' Social.

As with the Adams corruption case, there appeared to be DOJ personnel shenanigans. Bondi's DOJ fired one attorney who refused to bring suit against former FBI Director James Comey, he because it was believed to be flimsy at best. So Bondi's DOJ hired another former personal Trump attorney, whose specialty is insurance, to file the suit. The other seemingly 'vengeance' lawsuit was brought against NYS Attorney General, Letitia James, regarding alleged fraud.

Earlier this year Bondi also reportedly ordered DOJ personnel to scour the Epstein files in search of Trump's name, wherein they reportedly found numerous references. Then Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, appeared to try to to a bait and switch on the conservative press and the American public to make the issue go away. But they were caught red handed. It is believed that one of the many contributing reasons for the U.S. government shutdown is that Trump and House Majority Leader Mike Johnson don't want to swear in a recently elected Democrat, who would enable a bipartisan majority in Congress to demand the release of the Epstein files. Stay tuned here, because billionaire controlled TV News is failing you.

Sunrise 7.09 am. Sunset 6.12 pm. Daylight Savings Time. We're getting 11 hours & 2 minutes of daylight or four hours and 4 minutes less of sunlight than we were getting the weekend of the Summer Solstice, on June 20, 2025. The Summer Solstice is the longest day of this year, providing 15 hours and 6 minutes of sunlight in NYC.

The photo above or at right, was taken yesterday in Manhattan in Rockefeller Center. Over time I've come to consider Rockefeller Center as Manhattan's Town Center. The Art Deco architecture - including Saks 5th Avenue in the background - as well as the public space behind me, including the skating rink which recently opened, were developed with consideration for the community as a whole, not just the property owners. The photo reminded me of how nice it is to get together with friends, and to enjoy their company through an evening of texting together.

Important - Vote No on Charter Revision Ballot Measures 2 - 6 / Click Link to See for Yourself

Charter Revision Ballot Measures. Eric Adams has floated 5 of the 6 Measures on the November 4th Ballot, which would strip you, the NYC voters, of most input into any billionaire funded real estate developments in your communities. I urge you to VOTE NO on the ballot measures. We will provide further details in the Weekly News Update coming over the weekend. But in the meantime, you can watch a half hour video by a community activist explaining why you should vote against the billionaire developer measures, which Eric Adams so dishonestly served up as an 'affordable housing fix'. And after you inform yourself, we ask you to tell your family and friends [aka We, The People] because the billionaire developers and international investors are likely to advertise false narratives about voting yes being good for you - when in fact it is not. And they will use the uninformative, disinformative and distracting TV News to pummel the electorate with the false, decades old 'this is good for 'affordable housing' pitch' to deceive NYC voters into giving up their rights. Why NYC should vote NO to the Charter Revision Ballot Questions November 2025.

NYC Specific Weather - This can be very Different than TV News TriState Weather. Essentially no rain, but some rain may come late Sunday evening, but more likely early Monday morning. The humidity will range from about 50% to 75% on Saturday and from 70% to 90% on Sunday. Winds are 5 - 10 mph Saturday, rising to 10 - 15 mph Sunday.

NYC Mayoral Debates - Debate Report Coming & ...

things to do this weekend nyc weekend events manhattan queens brooklyn bronx staten island nyc weekend eventsThe Campaign Finance Board scheduled two Mayoral Debates this month. The first was held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 7 pm at NBC Studios at Rocefeller Center in Manhattan [aired on NBC], and next Wednesday , October 22, 2025 at 7 pm [NY1] there will be one more debate among the three remaining Mayoral candidates - Mamdani, Cuomo and Sliwa.

We covered the debate on Thursday night at NBC at Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan, as you can see in the photo above or at right. We'll post what we learned in the debate about all of the misinformation that's floating around, as well as our view on what the debate changed - if anything - over the weekend.

Things To Do This Weekend / Week in NYC

things to do this weekend nyc weekend events manhattan queens brooklyn bronx staten island nyc weekend eventsSaturday, October 18, 2025 - No Kings Day Protests Nationwide - see links below. Americans who are concerned that the Trump Administration is increasingly exercising fascist-like control of the U.S. federal government apparatus, are taking to the streets on Saturday in protests planned across the country, but also, out of concern for what's happening here, protests are planned around the globe.

The Reasons Why So Many are Expected to Participate in the No Kings Day Protests. Among the many concerns these protesters have with the Trump Administration are the following: 1) Trump is continually breaking the law by denying Americans and immigrants alike, their right to due process; 2) he's been withholding government funding to suppress freedom of speech at our colleges, universities [Columbia capitulated, MIT has stood tall and Harvard has too thus far] and many large influential law firms; 3) he's been attacking the press with what appear frivolous lawsuits [ABC, CBS, NYT, WSJ & more]; 4) his Secretary of Defense, Hegseth, has been trying to eliminate transparency about what's going on at the Department of Defense by trying to coerce media outlets to sign agreements / subservient oaths not to report anything without his authorization [reminds me of the Hitler loyalty oath], 5) he's been intimidating mass media companies by threatening them with their FCC licenses [eg. ABC Kimmel] or intimating the possibility of blocking mergers [CBS & Skydance], 6) he's been militarizing our city streets by using ICE agents who aren't well trained, nor experienced for the jobs they are being asked to perform [a Chicago judge ordered ICE agents to start wearing body cameras in Chicago], 7) he's been militarizing our streets by calling up the National Guard based on false pretences of non-existent emergencies in Democratically run cities [Los Angeles, Portland and Chicago], 8) he's been cutting funding for many Americans' essential food and healthcare [The Big Billionaire Bill], 9) he's been cutting taxes for the rich, by borrowing trillions on the backs of future generations of Americans, 10) he attempted to convince the Georgia Secretary of State Raffensperger to 'find' him 11,780 votes so he could steal the 2020 presidential election, 11) he played a role in inciting the January 6, 2021 Insurrection to overthrow the results of the 2020 election, including delaying a call up of the National Guard even after the protesters started yelling 'hang Mike Pence' who was the Vice President at the time, 12) he's currently trying to rig the 2026 election results by having governors gerrymander their voting districts, so that in spite of whatever the popular vote may be, the Republicans will still retain a majority in the House and 13) he's begun using the Department of Justice as his own personal law firm wherein he's begun prosecuting anyone he doesn't like or who has stood up to him [John Bolton former National Security head, James Comey former FBI head & Letitia James NYS Attorney General].

things to do this weekend nyc weekend events manhattan queens brooklyn bronx staten island nyc weekend eventsBillionaire controlled TV News and mass media outlets have been amplifying the false statements that these peaceful protests are 'Hate America' rallies. TV News continually repeats these false statements, made by reckless politicians, over and over and over again. The careless politicians who say such things, appear to be trying to incite the ignorant and unstable, to do join them in doing stupid, immoral, possibly even violent, things in order to frighten 'We, The People'. The ultimate goal appears to be to muzzle Americans from standing up for our god-given "inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". Historically, America has been the home of the brave, and I hope this generation will not be the exception. There's a lot at stake.

So, I have a few PEACEFUL PROTEST recommendations: 1 ) Don't allow yourself to get into an argument with anyone about anything. If you find your blood is boiling, walk away. 2) If you can maintain your calmness, and have a fairly good grasp of what's going on, and good command of the facts, try to converse with some of the counter protesters as to why they are there. Try to listen to them for as long as you like or can, and try to leave them with the sense that they just spoke to someone who is their fellow American, who listened and who cares. Only love can conquer hate. 3) Take along an Amercan flag. It automatically proves that Speaker Johson Action was wrong about this being a Hate America rally. 4) Report to the police anyone who is creating a disturbance regardless of which side they are on. Democracy is a conversation, where we discuss things, find what we can agree on, compromise on what we can't agree on, and kick some of the cans down the road.

While you're out there channel the calm spirituality of many peaceful protesters who've gone before you. Siddhartha Buddha, Jesus Christ, David Thoreau, Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Joan Baez and Nelson Mandela - are a few of the great peaceful protesters that come to mind.

Sunrise 7.17 am. Sunset 6.02 pm. Daylight Savings Time. We're getting 10 hours & 44 minutes of daylight or four hours and 22 minutes less of sunlight than we were getting the weekend of the Summer Solstice, on June 20, 2025. The Summer Solstice is the longest day of this year, providing 15 hours and 6 minutes of sunlight in NYC.

The photo above or at right, was taken Wednesday at the Spectrum News NY1 NYC Mayoral Debate at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, in Queens. From left to right are Andrew Cuomo, Zohran Mamdani and Curtis Sliwa. The debate was suprisingly spirited and interesting. We'll provide details over the weekend, or early next week.

NYC Specific Weather - This can be very Different than TV News TriState Weather. No rain all weekend, continuing an extremely dry Fall, and year in NYC & NYS, due to climate change. EARLY VOTING STARTS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2025

Saturday - Sunday, October 25 to November 2, 2025 - Early Voting Municipal Elections - This election the following government offices are up for election - Mayor, Public Advocate, Comptroller, City Council and Borough Presidents. Also there are six Ballot Referendums, five of which were engineered by Mayor Adams and his campaign funders.

Read the following paragraphs to inform yourself of the details, because the 'affordable housing' ads you'll see by the billionaires are deceitful - unless you're making between $100,000 to $250,000 per year. And the community control you'd be voting to give up, would be somewhere close to impossible to claw back from them. The same is true of the billionaire Mamdani attack ads [deceitful], which are distortions of the truth reflecting the billionaires's desire to manipulate voters' perceptions, so that voters will vote for the candidates that will serve the billionaire class - like Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo have - and not work for you, the working and middle class citizens of NYC.

Scroll down to the ads with red white and blue coloring, that include the statement '2025 General Election / Early Voting' for details about where to find your poll site, their early voting hours, as well as other election related information.

Eric Adams' Charter Revision Ballot Measures 2 - 6: IMPORTANT - VOTE NO

Click Links that Follow to See for Yourself

things to do this weekend nyc weekend events manhattan queens brooklyn bronx staten island nyc weekend eventsCharter Revision Ballot Measures / One Last Betrayal of Voters by Eric Adams. Eric Adams has floated five of the six measures [#'s 2 - 6] on the November 4th Ballot, in one last service to the billionaires and real estate developers who funded his campaigns and corruption legal bills. The donors have already received numerous Adams' favors including zoning changes, tax breaks, financing and / or even public land at what appears super discount prices.

Here's what the NYC Council thought of Adams ballot proposals.

https://council.nyc.gov/press/2025/09/02/2955/

TV News is Failing you. Reasons to Vote NO on Ballot Measures 2 - 6. These ballot measures will strip you, the NYC voters, of most of your rights to legally object to any billionaire funded real estate developments in your communities. I urge you to VOTE NO on the ballot measures in order for you to maintain some sort of community control / legal rights, at a time when international money and billionaire real estate investors are hiking up the rents and cost of living here.

The graphic above or at right, was taken from the Village Preservation website, as they would like us and anyone else who's interested to help spread the word about how Eric Adams Ballot measures. Adams' Charter Ballot Revisions represent one of Eric Adams' last major efforts to aid and abet NYC and international billionaire investors and developers in being able to bulldoze through any community in NYC without obtaining much - if any - input from the community before they begin demolition and construction. Use the links below to view half hour videos, by various non profit community groups, opposing the measure.

Use One of Links Below to Learn Why You Should VOTE NO. But you don't need to trust me on this, as you can watch one of these half hour videos by different community groups explaining why you should vote against the pro billionaire developer measures, which 'working class' Mayor Eric Adams served up as an 'affordable housing fix'. To Adams 'affordable housing' usually means affordable to folks making between $100,000 and $250,000 per year.

And then Tell / Email / Text Your Family & Friends the Links. And after you inform yourself, make sure you inform your family and friends [aka We, The People] because the billionaire developers and international investors are already advertising deceitful narratives about how voting yes will be good for you - when in fact it is not. And they will use the uninformative, disinformative and distracting TV News to pummel the NYC electorate with the very dishonest, decades-old 'this is good for 'affordable housing' pitch' to convince NYC voters into giving up their rights. Why NYC should vote NO to the Charter Revision Ballot Questions November 2025.
