NYC Weather. The temperature highs will be around 60 Friday, rising a bit to the mid 60's and then rising to the mid 70's on Sunday. The temperature lows will be around 60 all weekend. Winds are expected to be a breezy 7 - 12 mph all weekend. The humidity will rise to 95% Friday, fall to 85% Saturday and then down to about 70% on Sunday. About 2 - 5 inches of rain are expected Friday, and then less than an inch Saturday morning and then dry from about lunchtime Saturday through the rest of the weekend.

  • UWS _ Saturday & Sunday, September 30 & October 1, 2023 from 10 am - 6 pm and until 5 pm on Sunday - American Craft Festival returns to Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center. This is an unusual street fair, featuring the works of over 150 artists and craftspeople. It's a two day street fair on the Upper West Side.

The photo at right show a couple of folks who marched in the Pulaski Day Parade in a prior year. The event returns Sunday.

  • Midtown _ Sunday, October 1, 2023 beginning at 12.30 pm - The Pulaski Day Parade returns to Manhattan. The parade begins at 39th Street and marches up to 54th Street. There's a mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral on 5th Avenue at 50th Street at 10.15 am preceding the parade.
  • Midtown _ Wednesday, September 27, 2023 thru Sunday, October 8, 2023, all shows begin at 8 pm except the last day when it begins at 3 pm - Fall for Dance Festival. At the NY City Center at 131 West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. Tickets are $20 plus fees and performances last about an hour and a half. For details and tickets - https://www.nycitycenter.org/ This is not a st fair but rather a cultural festival.
  • UWS _ Friday, September 29 - October 15, 2023 - Times Vary - NY Film Festival - At Lincoln Center at 65th Street and Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side. Not an UWS street festival, but rather a film festival on the UWS.
  • Fridays and Saturdays, the Metropolitan Museum Rooftop Cantor bar is open beginning at 5.30 pm on the 5th floor. Free w/ admission to the Met. This year the bar stays open through October 22nd, 2023 and it's worth noting that it closes at 4.15 pm on weekdays, and opens at 11 am on all days.

A day full of activities for everyone including games, arts & crafts and musical performances. Free. The themes this year are Mythology and Riverside Rhythms.   • Saturday & Sunday, September 30 & October 1, 2023 from 12 noon to 12 midnight & 10 pm respectively - Oktoberfest at the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden in Astoria. The Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden is located at 29-19 24th Avenue [at 31st Street]. They usually offer a special menu, drink specials, giveaways and there's usually a pig roast in the garden, but not sure what's planned this year, because they haven't announced any specifics on their website. Not a street fair in Astoria, but an ethnic food & drink event.

  • Williamsburg _ Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 12 noon to 7 pm [including assembly and after party] - the Avenue of Puerto Rico Parade. The parade assembly / line up begins at 12 noon. The parade kicks off at 2 pm under the BQE at Meeker and Graham Avenue [on Google Maps] which is also called the Avenue of Puerto Rico. The parade will march along Graham / Avenue of Puerto Rico down to Flushing Avenue. From 3.30 pm to about 7 pm there will be an after party.
  • Boerum Hill _ Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 12 noon - 6 pm - the Atlantic Antic. Along Atlantic Avenue from 4th Avenue in Boerum Hill, to Hicks Street in Cobble Hill & Brooklyn Heights. This Brooklyn Street Fair is billed as the largest and oldest street festival in Brooklyn and has ethnic food, live entertainment and shopping. The festival includes live bands, local vendors of arts & crafts, food and programs for adults & kids. $3 suggested donation & $7 with chowder sampling.   • Moved from Saturday 9/30 to Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 11 am to 5 pm - 73rd Annual Fence Show at Snug Harbor. At the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden at 1000 Richmond Terrace in the Randall Manor neighborhood of Staten Island. This is a long-running tradition featuring 140 artists who sell their creations on the Snug Harbor lawn. This year they've added a biergarten, where you can pay $25 for a couple of brews, a German pretzel and and homebrew club tastings.

The lows will be about 60 all weekend long. The winds will be about 5 mph on Thursday, 10 mph on Friday, 15 - 20 mph on Saturday and then falling back to 10 mph on Sunday. The humidity will be 50% - 65% on Thursday, 60% on Friday, and then between 80% - 90% for the rest of the weekend. Sunrise Today - 6.43 am and Sunset Today - 6.55 pm. No rain is expected on Thursday or Friday. Early Saturday through about 2 pm it's going to be rainy, dropping as much as an inch and a half the whole day. In the evening the probability of rain falls from 70% to 60% and thenn to 50% on Sunday, when about a half inch of rain is forecast.

  • 9.22.23 _ CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER _ Manor Heights _ Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 12 noon - 7 pm - The Rolling Thunder Oktoberfest celebration is being held at William H. Pouch Camp at 1285 Manor Road in the Greenbelt just south of Manor Heights. It was formerly held in Historic Richmond Town. There will be food, beer, rides, games, shopping and live entertainment.   • Randall Manor _ Saturday & Sunday, September 23 & 24, 2023 from 11 am to 8 pm - Snug Harbor Dance Festival. Many different classes ranging from one to two hours by various instructors, many of whom are local. Free / Pay What You Will. The event is being hosted at various buildings at Snug Harbor including the Botanical Garden on located at 1000 Richmond Terrace in the Randall Manor neighobrhood of Staten Island. The buildings includes the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Cottage Row, the Snug Harbor Wetlands, Building G / The Dance Center, Leah Mitchell Studio – G202 on 2nd floor. Free.
