Weather. The temperature highs will be near 80 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, rising to the mid 80's or higher on Monday. The temperature lows will be in the 60's all weekend. Over a half inch of rain is expected between about 2 pm Friday and about 4 pm Saturday, and the rest of the weekend will be dry. Winds will be 5 - 10 mph on Friday, Saturday and Monday, falling to 3 - 5 mph on Sunday. The humidity will be 80% on Friday, 70% on Saturday, and 60% on Sunday and Monday. All in all a pretty fair weather for the three day weekend.
The photo at right was taken at Coney Island in Brooklyn in 2019 prior to the outbreak of the CoVid pandemic. While CoVid hasn't gone away [and may never], it seems the worst of it is behind us and folks are beginning to return to what used to be their normal lives. Coney Island opened in April this year.
Manhattan Things To Do This Weekend NYC
In the photo at right is just one of thousands of artworks for sale in a prior year at the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit which begins Saturday and runs through Monday.
On Monday, May 30, 2022 the Inwood Memorial Day Parade begins at 11.30 am at Dykman Street and marches up Broadway into Inwood Park where a short flag raising ceremony will be held.
The Lower East Side Festival runs Friday through Sunday from 6 pm to 1 am [and Saturday also from 12 noon - 6 pm] at the Theater for the New City at 155 East 10th Street in the East Village. The festival includes theater, music, dance, film and kids stuff. Free.
The Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit begins Saturday and runs through the weekend. The art fair runs from 12 noon to 6 pm daily along University Avenue from Washington Square Park South to 13th Street in the Village.
The Losaida Festival is on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 12 noon - 5 pm - Along Avenue C and 8th Street [Losaida Street] in the East Village. The fair celebrates Puerto Rican food, music and culture. Free.
It's Fleet Week in NYC and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is hosting a number of activities, topped off on Monday at 10 am with a Memorial Day Closing Ceremony. See www.intrepidmuseum.org/fleet-week for details.

Queens Things To Do This Weekend NYC
The Sunnyside Gardens Park Memorial Day fair returns on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 12 noon - 5 pm. Admission is free, the public is welcome, and you can buy food, items and rides for kids.

Queens is unmatched in the breadth and depth of Memorial Day Parades in NYC. There are Memorial Day Parades in Little Neck / Douglaston [largest in NYC], Maspeth, Ridgewood, College Point and Whitestone. Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 2 pm, the 101st College Point Memorial Day Parade marches from 28th Avenue and College Point to MacNeil Park in College Point. For further information see their FB page at www.facebook.com/CPmemorialdayparade/.
Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 1 - 3 pm, the Maspeth Memorial Day Parade begins at Walter Garlinger Memorial Park at 72nd Street and Grand Avenue in Maspeth. The parade marches down Grand Avenue ending at 69th Street at Maspeth Memorial Park where there will be a ceremony and community gathering. ECCA antique autos are participating in the parade. I couldn't find an official site for this event, but a number of websites, including one by the government confirmed the event.
Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 12 noon - 2 pm, the American Legion Forest Hills Memorial Day Weekend Parade marches from Ascan Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue to [not sure of end destination, but possibly St. Johns Cemetery] in Forest Hills.
Monday, May 30, 2022 the Douglaston - Little Neck Memorial Day Parade returns live. The parade begins between Monday at 2 pm at Jayson Avenue in Great Neck, marching southwest along Northern Blvd and ending at 245th Street in Douglaston. This is said to be the biggest Memorial Day Parade in the city. There are related activities leading up to the parade that begin at 10 am. See www.lndmemorialday.org for details.
On Monday, May 30, 2022 from 11 am - 1 pm the Ridgewood / Glendale Myrtle Avenue Memorial Day Parade - Begins at Myrtle Avenue and Cypress, marching up to Cooper Avenue. There will be short ceremonies at both the beginning and end of the parade. Organized by the Allied Veterans Memorial Committee of Ridgewood and Glendale. ECCA antique autos are participating in the parade.
On Monday, May 30, 2022 from 11.30 am - 2 pm the Whitestone Memorial Day Parade marches from 149th Street and 15th Drive to [not sure of end destination]. It begins with a short ceremony. I believe it's organized by the Whitestone Veterans Memorial Association which lists this phone number on the web 718.767.4323.
Queens is also home to four fine public golf courses: Clearview, Douglaston, Forest Park and Kissena. All of these are owned by the NYC Parks Department so given the cost of such real estate, golfing on them is fairly affordable. Brooklyn Things To Do This Weekend NYC
BAM is hosting a four day festival entitled Dance Africa Performance 2022 at the following days / times - Fri, May 27 at 7:30pm - the Bambara Drum and Dance Ensemble, Sat, May 28 at 2pm - the LaRocque Bey School of Dance, Sat, May 28 at 7pm - the Asase Yaa African American Dance Theater, Sun, May 29 at 3pm - Farafina Kan and Mon, May 30 at 3pm - the Harambee Dance Company. The photo at right was taken a few years ago at Orchard Beach. The NYC Parks Department cleaned the beach up early in this century and - given its proximity to the city and public transit - it's still not too crowded.

On Monday, the 155th Brooklyn / Bay Ridge Memorial Day Parade steps off 11 am on 3rd Avenue and 78th Street in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. The parade proceeds down to Marine Avenue, up to 4th Avenue, then over to John Paul Jones Park for their memorial service which includes bag pipes, flag raising and wreath laying by Veteran Service Organizations. This is followed by a 21-gun salute and the playing of Taps by the Veteran Corps of Artillery.
Bronx Things To Do This Weekend NYC
Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 11 am - 6 pm. Official National Puerto Rican Day Parade Street Festival / Annual 152nd Street Cultural Festival - Along 152nd Street between Jackson & Tinton Avenues in the Longwood / Melrose neighborhoods of the Bronx. It's one of the largest Puerto Rican street festivals in NYC. The National Puerto Rican Day Parade is held a week later in Manhattan.
On Saturday, May 28th from 1 - 7 pm the Bronx Night Market will be open at Fordham Plaza across from Fordham University and the train station. The market offers a variety of cuisines from around the world, most notably Latin and African cultures in dozens of food stalls.
Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Park on the east coast of the Bronx opens for the summer beginning Saturday, along with other NYC park beaches. See ww.nycgovparks.org/facilities/beaches for details.

On Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 2 - 3 pm, the Bartow Pell Mansion in Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx is hosting a performance by the Bronx Arts Ensemble. I believe it's free but that's unconfirmed.

Staten Island Things To Do This Weekend NYC
Thursday - Sunday, May 26 - June 12, 2022 there's an SI Mall Carnival at the Staten Island Mall at 2655 Richmond Avenue in the Heartland Village / New Springville neighborhoods of Staten Island. The carnival which includes rides, prize games and food is open weekdays from 5 to 10 pm, opening at 1 pm on Saturdays & Sundays and Memorial Day. Tickets are $5 for entry, and $35 per person for [I think unlimited] weekday rides and $85 for four persons. For details see www.statenislandmall.com
