Halloween Weekend in All 5 Boroughs; some outdoor Farmers Markets & Street Fairs still open
October 28, 2022 / NYC Neighborhoods / NYC Things To Do Events / Gotham Buzz NYC.
NYC Weather. The temperature highs will be in the low 60's all weekend, while the temperature lows will be in the low 40's on Friday and Saturday, rising to the mid 50's by Sunday. Winds will be 3 - 8 mph all weekend. Humidity will be 45% - 65% on Friday and Saturday, rising to 60% - 80% on Sunday. No rain is in the forecast this weekend.
The photo at right was taken over a decade ago in Queens. I recently came across it while doing some website content management work. The photo captures a moment in time of a young woman with an alluring gaze.

On Friday night the Whitney Museum in the Village is throwing a 'Hallowteen' event, while there's a Halloween party at the Museum of the City of New York on the UES and the McKittrick Hotel is throwing a big Halloween Party down in Chelsea. Stage 48 in Midtown is throwing a Monster Ball on Friday and a Halloween Parade After Party on Monday. There's also an old silent movie being shown, accompanied by a live organist, at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The Merchants House Museum in the East Village is hosting haunted tours in the evening on Friday and Saturday.
On Saturday the Meatpacking BID is hosting a number of family friendly Halloween events and programs in the West Village, while E's Bar is throwing a party on the UWS. On Saturday and Sunday, Lincoln Center is hosting an Open House and Family Day. Capitale in SoHo is hosting a big Halloween bash on Saturday.
On Sunday the Irish Arts Center in West Midtown is throwing a kids event midday. The Slate Bar, Bar 13 and Webster Hall all have Halloween events on both Saturday and Monday. Also on Sunday in the Flatiron District there's a Halloween themed history tour.
And the NYC Halloween Day Parade is on Monday.

Open House NY all Weekend All Boros, Halloween Festivities Begin; some outdoor Farmers Markets & Street Fairs still open

NYC Weather. The temperature highs will be in the low to mid 60's, while the temperature lows will be in the high 40's on Friday, low 50's on Saturday and the high 50's on Sunday. There's a 50% - 90% chance of about a third of an inch of rain on Sunday, beginning about 2 pm. Winds will be about 5 mph on Friday and Saturday, rising to about 10 mph on Sunday. The humidity will rise from 50% - 65% on Friday, to 55% - 75% on Saturday and to 75% - 90% on Sunday.

This year a number of organizations have kicked off the Halloween festivities a bit early, with some starting this weekend, some happening throughout the coming week, and many, many more happening over next / Halloween weekend.

Things To Do This Weekend in Manhattan NYC
On Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 11 am to 5 pm - Treats in the Streets - is an event filled day of activities in the West Village generally designed for kids by the Meatpacking Business Improvement District. The day includes live music, tarot card readings, a couple of hours of drag queen story telling, and the annual Doggie Costume Contest. At Hudson River Park & 14th Street Park and the Gansevort Plaza at Little West 12th and 13th Streets in the West Village. See link above for further details.

Note that the Harlem Meer Floating Pumpkin Flotilla in Central Park and related events are happening on Wednesday & Thursday, October 26 & 27, 2022 from 4 - 7 pm. There's also a lecture on Witchcraft in NY, followed by a Halloween Trivia Contest at the NY Historical Society on the Upper West Side on Thursday, October 27, 2022 beginning at 6 pm & 8.30 pm respectively.
Wednesday thru Saturday, October 26 - 29 2022 from 6.30 to 10 pm - 50 minute Haunted House Candlelight Tours at The Merchants House Museum that run every half hour. They describe them as follows: " ... by flickering candlelight to hear chilling – and true – tales of decades of otherworldly activity in the house, the results of years of paranormal investigations – and the latest stunning scientific findings. The Tredwell family lived at 29 East 4th Street for nearly 100 years, and at least eight people died in the house. Reports of strange and inexplicable occurrences have been widespread since Gertrude, the last surviving Tredwell, died in 1933 ..."

NYC Weather. The temperature highs will be in the mid 60's and the lows will be in the low 50's. No rain is in the forecast until Monday. Winds will range from 3 - 10 mph and humidity will range from about 50% to 65% - both all weekend.

Things To Do This Weekend in Manhattan NYC
Saturday, October 15, 2022 beginning at 12 noon to 3 pm - 1st Annual Indigenous People's Parade. The parade begins at 26th Street and South Broadway in Midtown and marches down to 17th Street where there will likely be some impromptu activity in Union Square Park.
Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 1 - 9 pm - Diwali Times Square - A celebration of the Hindu festival of lights in Times Square.
Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 12 noon to 5 pm - Taste of the Seaport - At Piers 16 & 17 along the East River at the South Street Seaport. Entertainment, kids activities and about 40 food & beverage purveyors with proceeds going to arts and enrichment programs at two public elementary schools - PS 343 Peck Slip School & PS 397 Spruce Street School. Last year tickets cost $10 for 5 tastes at www.tasteoftheseaport.org.

NYC Weather. The temperature highs will fall from the mid 70's on Friday to just below 60 on Saturday, and then rising back into the low to mid 60's on Sunday and Monday. The temperature lows will start around 50 on Friday, and then falling to the mid 40's on Saturday, rising to the high 40's on Sunday and Monday. The humidity will be in a comfortable 50% - 65% range all weekend. No rain is in the forecast, so all in all it looks to be perfect fall weekend weather through the holiday. Enjoy it as the winter is a'coming.

On Sunday, October 9, 2022 beginning at 12 noon, the Hispanic Day Parade begins marching up 5th Avenue from 44th to 69th Street.
There's a Columbus Day Parade on the Upper East Side on Monday 10/10/22. The Manhattan Columbus Day Parade begins at 12 noon on Fifth Avenue at 44th Street and marching up to 72nd Street along the Upper East Side.
